I’ve been to the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them European movie premiere yesterday night (Tuesday 15th of November) in Paris and it was MARVELLOUS. One of the best nights ever. I loved every single bit of it !
It was happening at the movie theatre Le Grand Rex in Paris, and started at 6:45 PM with the live stream of the RED Carpet event happening in Leicester square in London, and at 8pm, the movie finally started.
What can I say ?
Well, first, after 45minutes of waiting in line (even though we arrived 1h before the beginning) we finally got to enter (my friend Sarah and I) in the movie theater. To our surprise, we discovered that on each seat was Newt Scamander’s official collectible wand!
I COULD NOT ASK FOR MORE haha. I was delighted. So during around 45minutes to an hour, we watched on the big screen the live stream of the Red Carpet event premiere happening in London. We got too see Eddie Redmayne, Kathrine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, David Yates, David Heymann, and of course J.K Rowling was there. They just did the usual stuff, talked about their work and answered some fan questions. If you want to see the entirety of the Red Carpet event, you can go on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’s Facebook page.
At 8pm the movie started, and oh boy…what I think is one of the best things about going to a premiere of your favourite movies (if it’s a franchise of course) is that we Potterheads were out tonight. I loved how during every single funny scene people laughed, during every apparition of an awaited actor/character people cheered, during every emotional scene people ‘awwwwed’, and everybody was sooo happy when they got out of the cinema.
The actors were wonderful, especially Dan who portrayed a ‘No-maj’ astonished by the discovery of the wizarding world, without overacting it, but with so much humour that it made much more realistic. And of course, even if Eddie Redmayne has always portrayed really complex characters such as in ‘The Danish girl’ or ‘The Theory of Everything,` he surprises us once more with his very touching character that is Newt Scammander.
The movie was very good. I thought it had a way more comedy kinda part than in Harry Potter, (but it will always be as good tho), there was everything that we already knew from the wizarding world and more. I felt like I was reading ‘A History of Magic’ by Bathilda Bagshot (not in a bad way no no) I was bewitched by the film , and I don’t want to tell you more because I am a terrible story teller and I always spoil everything ! So just GO watch it as soon as you can, you won’t regret it.
All I have to say now is that I am SO excited for the second movie, in 2018, it will apparently be set in Paris, wonderful, hometown!
Have a nice day!
